Purpose: To produce clean, engaging, and professional videos optimized for YouTube or social media platforms.
1. Import and Organize Assets
- Import raw video clips, audio files, images, and assets into the video editing software.
- Create labeled folders or bins: Footage, Audio, Music, Graphics, Export.
- Review clips and mark the best takes with flags or markers.
2. Rough Cut Assembly
- Drag clips into the timeline in sequence based on the script or storyboard.
- Trim out mistakes, long pauses, or irrelevant footage.
- Focus on flow and timing, not fine details yet.
3. Fine Editing & Transitions
- Refine cuts for smoothness and pacing.
- Add transitions (cuts, fades, wipes) where appropriate.
- Sync audio and fix any sync issues.
4. Add Graphics and Text
- Insert lower thirds, titles, and captions as needed.
- Add branded intro/outro animations or logos.
- Use motion graphics for emphasis if suitable.
5. Audio Editing & Mixing
- Adjust voiceover levels to be clear and consistent.
- Add background music at a lower volume behind voice.
- Use audio effects (noise reduction, equalization) to enhance sound quality.
- Check for audio clipping or distortion and fix.
6. Color Correction & Grading
- Adjust brightness, contrast, and color balance to ensure natural look.
- Apply color grading to create mood or brand consistency.
- Use scopes (waveform, vectorscope) to ensure broadcast-safe levels.
7. Export Settings & Delivery
- Export video using recommended YouTube settings: H.264 codec, 1080p or 4K resolution, 30 or 60 fps.
- Save project files and back up raw footage.
- Upload final video with metadata: title, description, tags, thumbnail.
